There are two kinds of people in life: the ones who make sure they`re toward the front of the line, and those who prefer the back.
In the front of the line, you`re more likely to be noticed. Because you`re going first, you don`t have anyone else`s example to follow. This might mean you fail initially, but it might also make you a trailblazer. And even if you do fail, you`re more likely to get a second try.
In the back of the line, you`re just watching. You might like the back because you don’t want your failures to be front and center. On the other hand, relegating yourself to this position might mean you don`t even get to try at all. You`re squandered the opportunity to get better before you even know what you`re made of or, even worse, you`re giving everyone else the chance to get that much farther ahead of you-literally and figuratively.
To be successful in this business, you have to be willing to put yourself out front.
Our victories and failures alike are part of what helps us grow in our roles, but we`ll never experience them standing all the way in back.
